Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Borrow Babe app collects, why, and what you can do about it. Borrow Babe is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY]. We do not sell your personal information, we do not show ads, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

What we collect

If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we receive Apple's private relay address instead. We receive your name from Apple only the first time you sign in.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, health data, payment card details or government ID. Listings show a general area such as a city or neighbourhood that you choose; we never ask for a street address.

How we use it

We use your information to run the app: signing you in, showing listings, handling rental requests and messages, sending notifications you have allowed, responding to support requests, investigating reports, preventing abuse and fixing bugs. We do not use it for advertising or to build profiles for third parties.

Who can see what

Other members can see your name, profile photo, bio, the month you joined and your listings.
The other person in a rental can also see that request and your messages with them.
No member can see your email address, your saved items, your reports or who you have blocked.

These companies act on our instructions and under their own privacy terms. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of members or the public. If Borrow Babe is sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account:

your profile, listings, photos, saved items, blocks and sign-in record are deleted immediately;
if you signed in with Apple, we also revoke the app's access to your Apple account;
past rental records stay with the other member, with your identity removed;
reports made by you or about you are kept without your account attached, including the saved copy of the reported content, for [12 MONTHS] so we can handle repeat abuse;
technical logs expire on their own within [90 DAYS];
backups are overwritten within [30 DAYS].

Your choices

See and change your information: edit your profile and listings in the app.
Delete your account: Profile, then Delete account. It takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.
Notifications: turn them off in your iPhone's Settings.
Get a copy of your data, or ask a question: email support@borrowbabe.com. We reply within 30 days.

Depending on where you live, for example California, you may have legal rights to access, correct or delete your personal information and to not be treated differently for using those rights. Use the email above to make a request. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access rules in the database limit each member to their own private data, and photos are stored in a private bucket. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will notify you as the law requires.
